NÆ’s new album, Push Button Future is a dance-pop confection with a biting edge, commenting on modern-day issues of consumerism, commercialism, influencer culture. It’s bold, flashy, with elements of rap and EDM splashed throughout, skewering white privilege in a catchy way.

Bio

Enter the captivating and clever world of NÆ, Chicago-based synth pop and electronic artist. Known for her high-energy live performances with bold visual props and sci-fi narratives, NÆ ignites her audiences with messages of inclusivity, self-expression, and finding one’s inner child. Her sharp wit and humor are balanced with levity, imagination, and a cosmic effervescence.

NÆ’s music satirizes the absurdities of American aspirational lifestyles – think unicorn parties, sugary coffee drinks, and sexting. Her debut album, Push Button Future, has been applauded as “a dance-pop confection with a biting edge, commenting on modern-day issues of consumerism, commercialism, and influencer culture,” by Scapi Magazine

Producer, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Black performs with NÆ as Blizz, and is her core collaborator in the writing and recording process. Black’s production leans into both his sound design experience and jazz influence.

Hot off the heels of their recent performances at Andersonville Midsommarfest in Chicago, the Sound & Vision Synth Series in Rochester, NY, The Performing Arts Series at University of Minnesota Morris, House of Vans Chicago, and The 150 Media Stream in Chicago, NÆ and Blizz are working on the Orbital Ice Cream LP, to be released in 2025.

During the global pandemic, NÆ and Blizz created a sci-fi musical live TV show called Saturnae: Orbital Ice Cream that they streamed from their home studio. The series reached a global audience and amassed thousands of views on YouTube. The show featured a campy sci-fi narrative, DIY arts and crafts sequences, and a hero’s journey about collecting ice cream recipes from other planets across the Universe.

NÆ promises to leave her audience with a prominent message in each release, comical or not... [the Sugar Pumps] music video truly resembles that of a hilarious Saturday Night Live skit, as NÆ gives us heavy Kate McKinnon vibes from beginning to end.

Interview with synth pop artist nÆ - The What the Punk?! Podcast

...Words, melody, fashion, and an obsession with dead shopping malls are the paints she uses to launch her pop music rebellion against stability. Could her debut album, Push Button Future be the clarion call for white women to shed the absurdity of a “privileged” existence and look for meaning outside of their “Sugar Pumps”?
